






The site enjoys magnificent south facing views overlooking the Slaney river at Ferrycarraig on a very exposed site when viewed from the National Heritage Park.
Wexford County Council’s restraints of a maximum height of 6 meters which resulted in a design of cutting edge minimalism with the use of mono-pitch roof to keep the height low but achieve a two storey design which resulted in all functional rooms getting a panoramic view of the River Slaney with south facing solar gain.
The design of the dwelling house is be a reinstated palette of traditional and modern forms used to interpret the simple, clean style to meet the client’s aspirations. However varied the new building is and at times it conflicts with the existing traditional style, but it has resulted in a building which accurately reflects the values and aspiration of the client.
