The house is on an exposed site overlooking Bannow Bay which is a reinvention of a Wexford vernacular farm yard in respect of shelter and finishes.
The design of the dwelling house is be a reinstated palette of traditional and modern forms used to interpret the simple, clean style to meet the client’s aspirations. However varied the new building is and at times it conflicts with the existing traditional style, but it has resulted in a building which accurately reflects the values and aspiration of the client.
The settlement and building forms of this project are derived from the Irish vernacular tradition, modified or deformed to respond to local conditions of orientation, view and position. The layout is non-abstracted, contingent and organic.
